Baby Essentials: My Favorite Baby Products That Made Life Easier

0

As a mom, I’m often asked about some of my favorite baby products. So, I thought it would be fun to share my list with you! When I had my first daughter more than 7 years ago, I’ll admit I went a little crazy registering for and buying all the pretty things I thought I needed. When my second daughter came along, I made smarter purchases. I already knew what I really needed and wanted. Fast forward a few years, and these are the items that I would buy all over again. They were totally worth every penny. To me, they were essential, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these items to other moms.

These essentials help you enjoy those precious baby years to the fullest.

Boppy Nursing Pillow

What’s not to love about the Boppy pillow? When my daughters were born, I used my Boppy as a nursing pillow. It also worked beautifully to prop them up or put them on tummy time. They can sit up against it or use it as a pillow when they’re a bit older. We used ours so much, we actually bought a second one when my youngest was born. You can replace the slipcovers and wash them as often as need to. And you know what? My girls still have their Boppy pillows and they love them!

Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets

Your little one will be snug as a bug in this 100% cotton muslin swaddle blanket. You can use it as a swaddle when they’re born, or to cover up the stroller when you’re out and about. It can even double as a security blankie when they’re older. It has so many uses! My girls still have a few of these, which they use to cuddle with while watching a movie or to play. They are a little pricey, but it’s worth it. They are so very soft, they’re made from a breathable fabric, and can be used in so many different ways!

Onesies

After acquiring loads of beautiful complicated outfits for my first daughter (some I bought, and others were gifts), I finally learned that all you really need the first couple of months are onesies (or bodysuits). They are SO easy to change because they have the snap closure on the bottom. And when you’re waking up at 2 a.m. to change diapers with one eye open, you’ll be thankful that your baby is wearing a onesie. My favorite was Carter’s brand — they’re soft and comfy, and they’re available in various styles, colors, and patterns for girls and boys. Of course, you still want to have a few other cute outfits for the fun outings!

OXO Tot Sprout High Chair

After searching for the perfect, easy-to-clean high chair, I was thrilled to find this one. It’s sturdy, comfortable, stylish and its unique design allows you to adjust the seat and footrest. You can also remove the cushion to wash it or change it altogether if you need a new one or want to try a new color combo. The seat cushion comes in various colors, including navy, pink, green, taupe and grey. I also love that you can use it from 6 months to 5 years because it turns into a chair when they’re older.

Baby Jogger City Mini Stroller (single and double)

I owned a couple of strollers before I found this one — and once I tried it, I never looked back. This stroller has gone with us everywhere, from Disney Parks to airplane rides and mountain hikes. It’s compact, easy to steer, glides smoothly, and can be carried and folded with just one hand. I bought mine in black because I prefer neutrals, but they come in various colors. When my second daughter was born, I bought the double and we used it a LOT. That one requires both hands to fold and put away, but it’s still a breeze.

OXO Tot On-the-Go Drying Rack with Bottle Brush

This set is a lifesaver when you’re traveling and have several bottles to wash in your hotel room. It’s basically an all-in-one solution that includes a brush, a stand for the brush and a drying rack — all inside a compact case that folds for easy storage. My hubby would usually wash our baby bottles while we were away on vacation, and this made it so much easier to get the job done quickly and effectively.

I’m sure there are a few other things that I can recommend, but these are some of the basic essentials that helped keep our precious babies comfy and made our lives so much easier. Whether you have a little one, are preparing to welcome a baby, or you’re looking for a special gift for a loved one, I hope you find this list helpful.
