Put down your pumpkin spice lattes and slip on one of fall’s biggest trends… the asymmetrical neckline!

Now while researching for this article, there were some major trends out there (fitted suits, head to toe purple, furry outerwear, plaid sweaters, etc.). But realistically we live in Miami, where the heat is on pretty much year-round. I did not want my Miami mamas to be discouraged from updating their wardrobes, so I am going to focus on one trend we can all incorporate no matter the temperature!

There’s a style and size for everyone!

If you’re small chested, add ruffles to your look to add more fullness. If you’re fuller chested, opt for a blouse or dress in a darker color (like a deep plum color, which would make you a fashion maven, combining two trends in one!), with a fabric that stretches for comfort.

Whatever you decide, please buy the correct size! I have said it before and I will say it again, it does not matter the size on the label!! What matters is how it fits. If you have always been a size small and an asymmetrical blouse in size large fits you best, buy it! Better to be comfortable than to look and feel like a stuffed sausage. This trend, if purchased in the wrong size, can make the dreaded “armpit fat” look more noticeable. So ladies do yourselves a favor, and size up if you need to!

Undergarments Do Matter With This Trend

Unfortunately, this trend does require some type of strapless bra contraption. Since the asymmetrical top I am wearing (from dtchic.com) has ruffles and was fully lined, I ::gasp:: went braless, but I am on the smaller side. However, there are some companies like Wacoal and Warners that make some pretty awesome and comfortable strapless bras.

The asymmetrical neckline is great for date night or a night out with the girls, so you can put up with the bra issue for a couple of hours, right?? I mean we all put up with uncomfortable shoes every now and then. As long as the outfit is worth it, we do it!

Rock It

When you decide to rock this trend, make wherever you are into your own runway! Drop-off line? Make that AC blow your hair and have a fashion shoot in the car. In Publix? Walk down that milk aisle like you own it! Date night? Walk into that restaurant with your head held high and order that food like the goddess that you are.
