It’s Mickey Mouse Day; let’s celebrate! If you know me, you know I will take any excuse to decorate and make it a party. Mickey Mouse’s birthday is no exception.
Mickey Mouse was “born” November 18, 1928 — a creation of the late Walt Disney. Viewers first fell in love with the Mouse in the black and white film, Steamboat Willie. Fast forward nearly a century, and that Mouse has turned into a worldwide empire. As a longtime Disney lover, I truly enjoy all the fun and magic Mickey and his friends represent.
Let’s channel that magic and celebrate Mickey Mouse Day!
Mickey-Shaped Snacks
Fact: Mickey-shaped food tastes better! Many snacks now come Mickey-shaped, like these nuggets and Goldfish crackers. You can also improvise. I used my Mickey-shaped pancake mold to cut the quesadilla and added “Mickey ears” to the cupcake by placing Oreo cookies on either side of the frosting. Find more Mickey-shaped snacks to enjoy at home HERE.
Mickey Mouse Crafts
Mickey-themed crafts are another fun way to celebrate Mickey Mouse Day! To create “Mickey balloons” at home I wrapped Mickey plates in cellophane and added string before taping them up on the wall. You can also try these $5 DIY floral ears and follow us on Pinterest for even more Disney DIY.
Mickey Mouse Movie Night
Tune in to a favorite Mickey film (Mickey’s Christmas Carol is a great one for the holidays!) or stream the kids’ favorite Mickey Mouse television show and make it a family night! I know listening to the hot dog song for the hundredth (maybe thousandth) time can be a little wearing, but your kids will enjoy the memories of everyone snuggled up on the couch watching their favorite show. Find ways to make family movie night extra special HERE.
Now tell us, who’s your favorite Disney character? Share in the comments (don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be the Mouse)!
Join me in trying to add a little more fun to the everyday.
