In recognition of National Breastfeeding Month, BreastfeedMIAMI and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade WIC Program will host the 11th Annual Breastfeeding Awareness Family Day “in person” on August 6th at Doral Legacy Park from 9am – 2pm. This year’s theme— “Together We Do Great Things” focuses on the importance of ‘continuity of care’, highlighting breastfeeding as the foundation of lifelong good health for mothers, fathers, and the family unit.
This is a fun, family friendly event will be held indoors with the the Latch On, a health & Safety expo, parent workshops, children’s activities including an indoor and outdoor playground and splash pad. The one-of-a-kind “Art of Breastfeeding” exhibition will be on-site showcasing art created by local artist depicting the beauty and diversity of breastfeeding, chestfeeding and pump feeding.
Together, this extraordinary collaborative aims to educate, support, and promote breastfeeding with the goal of supporting the health of babies and children within our community. We hope to see you all there!
