Gobble! Gobble! It’s that time of year!! Thanksgiving is around the corner and we are sharing 5 kid-friendly activities for your Turkey Day fun. These themed activities are easy to execute and sure to bring the fun into the holiday season!

#1 Feed the Turkey

Feed the Turkey

This is a fun activity to exercise fine motor skills. If the tongs are too challenging, you can adapt by using a spoon to scoop or pincher fingers to grab and feed the turkey.

Supplies
  • Pom poms
  • Clear container (plastic is safest)
  • Googly eyes
  • Construction paper
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Tape/glue
  • Tongs
Directions
  1. Draw out feather shapes.
  2. Cut out feathers.
  3. Glue together and tape to the back of the container.
  4. Add eyes, beak, and wattle (red part under beak).
  5. Grab your rings and Pom poms and get ready to play!

#2 Apple Turkey Feather Matching- Gobble Gobble Game

Supplies
  • Fruit loops
  • Small cups or bowls
  • Toothpicks (preferably colored to match fruit loops)
  • Apple
  • Eye candies
  • Peanut butter
  • Candy corn
Directions

*To prep turkey:

  1. Add colored toothpicks to the backside of your apple.
  2. Attach your candy eyes to the front side of the apple with a drop of peanut butter.
  3. Attach the candy corn beak with a toothpick (you will have to break the toothpick in half to attach).
  4. Now your turkey is ready to play!!

*How to play:

  1. Have your little one separate Fruit Loops into bowls by color. You only need 5-10 of each color.
  2. Have them match the color Fruit Loop to each toothpick.
  3. If they get the match wrong, say “Gobble, gobble… NOOOO!”
  4. If they get the match correct, say “Gobble, gobble… YAAAYYYYY!”

#3 Blown Painted Turkey Feathers

  • White construction paper
  • Markers
  • Paint
  • Straw
  • Googly eyes
Directions
  1. Have your little ones draw out the body of the turkey & feet (or help them if it’s a bit too advanced for them).
  2. Drop a bit of paint (5 to 6 colors) above the body.
  3. Using the straw, blow away from the turkey body to create the feathers.
  4. Add the eyes and a beak for your turkey.
  5. Let it dry, hang, and enjoy!

#4 Turkey Color Sorting

Supplies
  • White construction paper
  • Dot stickers
  • Markers
Directions
  1. Draw a turkey with your markers. Be sure to make each one of the turkey feathers a different color.
  2. Hang on the wall or window where your child can reach.
  3. Have your little one match the dots to the corresponding feather.

#5 Create a Fruit Turkey

The fruit turkey is a fun way to play with food and create a delicious treat for Turkey Day! The fruits listed below are just suggestions… get creative with fruits that your family enjoys and be sure to share your creations with us on Instagram at @miamimomcollective!

Supplies
  • Melon
  • Pear
  • Grapes (red and green)
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Wooden Skewers
  • Toothpicks
Directions
  1. Have your little one put grapes on the skewers.
  2. Add blueberries to the toothpicks.
  3. Slice 1/3 of the melon off to make a sturdy base.
  4. Slice 1/3 of the pear off in a curved shape so it can lay easily on the melon.
  5. Attach the pear to the melon using toothpicks.
  6. Stick the skewers on the backside of the melon to create feathers.
  7. Stick toothpicks with the blueberries on them in front of the skewers.
  8. Add strawberries for wings with toothpicks.
  9. Attach eyes (blueberries), feet, and a beak (melon) using toothpicks.
  10. Voila! Serve and enjoy your awesome masterpiece!!
