The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there!

Stocking stuffers were named in the ‘Twas Night Before Christmas poem!

I’m not sure about you but I love stockings and stocking stuffers. Maybe it’s because I love trinkets and goodies (some would say I love “crap”)! Maybe it’s because my parents always made a big deal out of my stocking each year. It was just as exciting to me to wake up and dig through my stocking to see what I would find! I hope to bring you some ideas to fill your stockings and bring joy to stocking opening time.

Here are some ideas for you this Christmas for stocking stuffers that your family is sure to love!

Evergreens, Christmas cookies, pinecones and a little Christmas stocking

Stocking Stuffers for all Ages

Socks

Ok, hear me out, socks in stockings. Always. I have an obsession with socks! It’s very meta to put socks in stockings too! Now you can either go with simple solid colors or go themed based on their interests! I love gifting funky socks with favorite characters. Sometimes you can find those at Dollar Tree or Five Below, just have to look!

Favorite Candies or Snacks or Themed Chocolate

By Christmas, it’s been some time since Halloween so maybe you’ve been running low on candy. But kids and adults alike love receiving special candy in their stockings. Maybe you want to be funny and you can even grab coal-shaped chocolates to put in as a cute joke!

Does your recipient have a special interest? Collect something special?

Stocking stuffers can range in price as well, from simple trinkets to a special coin for your avid coin collector or a gift card to their favorite restaurant or a spa! Think about what they love and let your imagination wander.

Toiletries or Makeup

Yes, toiletries might sound odd but a new face or body wash, vitamin C serum, face mask, eyeliner, lip gloss, or makeup tools can be great stuffers to please all sorts of ages! For younger kids, a cute bath bomb or bubble bath can make bath time more fun for everyone! From tots to teens to adults–both men and women–there’s a wide range of goodies in this category that will make your stocking-stuffing life easier and will be an appreciated gift.

For Gardeners

As a gardener, I always have to put a little green in my suggestions! Seed packs are incredible stocking stuffers that will help your recipient enjoy a harvest or blooms in the months to come! If you have a gardener in your life, you can even get small tools to go in their stocking!

For the Thrill Seeker

Simple scratch-offs, either $1 are the gift that keeps on giving. Not just entertainment, there’s a chance the recipient could win some big bucks and the thrill is awesome!

Stuffers Geared More Toward Kids

Arts and Craft Kits

Michaels, Target, and Dollar Tree always have small Christmas-themed craft kits that can be a cute gift and keep your kids entertained on Christmas Day! Try a little painting kit or even a sticker activity book in their stocking for a stuffer that serves a dual purpose, an activity while you drink some hot coffee!

Sensory Items

Do your little ones like pop-its or kinetic sand? Small shops even have small sensory containers for sale that would fit perfectly in a stocking!

For the Little Ones

If you have an infant or toddler, teethers or pacifiers are wonderful and useful stocking stuffers for the littlest ones! Both of these are things you may buy anyway for the babies but you can save them to stuff a little stocking and make sure they’re not left out on Christmas!

Utensils and Food Picks

One of my favorite things to gift to toddlers are utensils or food picks to make their eating fun! You can find themed utensils for older toddlers or preschoolers with their favorite characters, or you can also stick with animal food picks for fun additions to your meals.

Pet Stocking Stuffers

Don’t forget about your furry or not-so-furry loved ones! Your pets deserve love too, especially because they’re part of the family! But stocking stuffers for them is easy, a simple treat for cats or dogs goes a long way. A toy to keep them from chewing or scratching up those new shoes you got is a great idea. Or some new accessories for our friends that live in aquariums or terrariums. Loving animals brings joy to our hearts too!

So many fun ideas exist!

These are only a few suggestions for stocking stuffers for all ages and all interests. I hope you’re able to find the perfect one for your recipient or it jump-starts your creativity! The most important part is spending time together and sharing in each other’s joy.
