I absolutely love fall!! It kind of feels like I get a fresh start, and I love that. The excitement for what’s ahead, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and even Christmas. When we lived in Norway I loved to go out in the woods behind our house and collect leaves, calluna, Rowan, and moss to decorate. There was something refreshing about the warm colors, the fresh crisp air, and the smell. If I close my eyes and take a deep breath I can still feel it. So how do I find the fall feeling here?
Finding that fall feeling in Miami
Here in Miami, we don’t have those falling leaves and everything that comes with them. But still, this is my favorite season. So I use every little trick in the book to bring out those same feelings that I used to get back home. And buying fall flowers is one of them. I love to get a bunch, and just put them all over our house. Those tight floral bouquets aren’t my style, so I make my own. Hopefully, you will find some inspiration in the pictures to go out, buy some fresh flowers, and make some bouquets of your own.
I like to use different sizes in my vases and put them together to make different displays around our house. A great tip is to use old jars, they make a cool rustic look and you get to reuse something you already have.
Since the weather in Miami is kind of warm, not to mention still humid in the fall I like to use artificial flowers to decorate our front porch. I don’t buy new decorations for every season, but I use what I already have. Not only does that make it more budget-friendly, but also I’m a big fan of reusing what I already have.
I hope you can find some inspiration in these pictures. Let’s enjoy this season and everything that follows. I for sure am going to make sure I take time to reflect on how thankful and blessed I am.
Happy fall y`all!!
