Thank you to our friends at Nailed It DIY for sponsoring the Miami Moms Blog Summer Sip With Us DIY Event.
Miami is full of fun and exciting places, but if you think you’ve done it all, guess again! There’s a new craft studio in town, Nailed It DIY, and they have a pretty neat concept!
Nailed It DIY: Wood Work at it’s Best
The Owners of Nailed It DIY hosted a group from Miami Moms Blog for a special preview event before the studio opened. The experience really is enjoyable for anyone and everyone. Our group consisted of Mom friends, children, and even a husband joined the fun!
I’ve always found a charm in making your own decor for your home. Each piece tells a story and when you glance at it, you remember the process of making it. Nailed It DIY is a craft studio where you can create your own DIY Projects. The best part: It’s fool proof. They prepare everything for you (hooray for no messes at home!) The studio is set up as a large square “bar” where you have knowledgeable “Art-Tenders” assisting you every step of the way.
Nailed It DIY also hosts private parties for Girl’s Night Out Groups, Birthdays, Kid Camps and more! One of our favorite things about this place is the hospitality we received while we were there. This family owned business has turned their passion into a purposeful endeavor to encourage others through fun creative experiences. We entered Nailed IT DIY as strangers but we all left feeling like family.
Before you arrive, you save your seat online and choose the project you want to work on. They have a ton of project types to choose from. They create all of the wooden signs in house so the quality of each sign is exceptional.
All of the projects have preset stencils you can choose from. However, you can also customize the wording or design if you would like.
You want to make your selection at least 24 hours in advance to expedite the stenciling process and to ensure they have it ready for you the day you come in. (Remember I said they prepare everything for you!) They remove the stress and the mess! I just showed up and all my project materials were neatly waiting for me ready to go. Pinterest goals have never been more attainable!
The project I worked on was a wooden plank that said “Gather.” When I arrived, I had my plank waiting for me at my seat. First they assisted me with the stain I wanted to use. They explained with detail how to apply the stain and (with my daughter’s help) I learned that a lot goes a long way! I then waited for it to dry and sanded the plank. Once it was sanded, I used the stencil to effortlessly paint on the word “Gather.” It was that simple and my finished product turned out amazing.
The Patience of the Staff
Crafting can sometimes be stressful Moms, am I right? My mini-me tagged along for our first adventure at Nailed It DIY. I wanted to create a beautiful neutral colored piece but naturally my daughter wanted to add her own hot pink unicorn flair. How was this going to work? The Art-Tender (read: negotiator extraordinaire) graciously allowed my young Monet to get creative on the back of my project with her preferred vibrant colors which worked as a great compromise but more importantly, empowered my daughter’s creativity. The care and attention with which they encouraged my daughter was really meaningful to watch as a Mom.
If you’re still not convinced that anyone can have success with a DIY project or if you are not in the mood to bring out your inner crafter, you’re in luck. You can skip the process and shop their section of finished products that you can purchase and take home. No appointment needed for this!
This DIY concept caught my eye as soon as I learned about them. Whether you just want to make an art project for the day, or have a party, this place is down right AWESOME. I was able to complete my project with a 1 year old and a 6 year old at my side. My oldest daughter really enjoyed the experience. She loved helping mommy stain the plank and dab on the paint. I got more than just a beautiful art project for my home. I bonded with my daughter, had a few good laughs with my friends and met some pretty cool people!
