Bloom: A Celebration of Motherhood was held May 19 & 20th and we are still obsessing over it. In 2020, we had to postpone the main event due to COVID and opted for a virtual experience. However, this year the comfort level of many moms increased and we created the best of both worlds. Our first hybrid event allowed for moms to gather in-person to kick off the fun and then we took to a virtual experience for the main event!
Bloom is one of the most important events that Miami Mom Collective hosts each year. The event is typically targeted to support new and expecting moms. This year, Bloom was designed to benefit moms in any and every season of Motherhood. (There were even several grandmothers who attended Bloom this year!) I think we can all agree that we were here for it!

Bloom 2021: Kick Off Party at The Doral Yard
This year was our first ever Hybrid Event and we kicked off the main event with a bang! The party started at The Doral Yard on May 19, 2021 at 8PM where mamas were greeted with a welcome drink, a swag bag (or two for our VIP ticket holders), new friendships, giveaways, and a good time!
The weather was exceptional and the staff at The Doral Yard provided the perfect outdoor ambience. A select number of live vendors were in attendance (and socially distanced!) to keep everyone engaged and entertained while learning about the awesome resources available to local moms and families.
There were giveaways from the moment you walked in and each vendor had either a free goodie or giveaway of their own! From mini maternity massages from Painless Pregnancy to Miami Mom Collective themed plaques from Nailed It DIY along with free monthly book sign ups with The Children’s Trust: this was the event to attend!
Pop Up Work Out with Cha Cha from Glow Fitness Studio
The morning after the in-person event the full virtual event kicked off on Facebook! In addition, all Bloom Attendees were given the opportunity to sign up for an in-person pop up workout class hosted by Cha Cha of Glow Fitness Studio. This gave those who didn’t make it to the kick off party an opportunity to sweat a bit and pick up their swag bags – OR for those who did make it to the kick off party, an opportunity to sweat off a bit of the night before’s food and drink!
Live Lunchtime Segment with Celebrity Chef Ralph Pagano
Cha Cha provided the energy we needed to kick start the greatest event of the year and a guilty-free way to lead us into the first LIVE Segment with Celebrity Chef Ralph Pagano of Naked Taco right at noon!
Taco Thursday was nothing short of what we expected from Chef Ralph. He kept the moms entertained, engaged, and ready to try to create their first Bloody Maria! Chef Ralph gave the mommas tips for side dishes and surprised everyone by giving away MORE gift cards than originally announced! Such a yummy and fun treat!

Q & A With Dr. Bob Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Christopher Bob was a huge hit at last year’s Bloom Event and surely did not disappoint this year! Moms came ready with questions for Dr. Bob. We learned tricks and tips to equip our children with the best possible dental health.
Dr. Bob also reviewed some common concerns. He assured everyone of how and when to address these concerns with our dentist. Dr. Bob provided encouragement on how to handle dentistry issues and emergencies with ease!

Live Expert Panel presented by Baptist Health South Florida: Featuring Carmen Barresi and Dr. Ana Cecilia Botero
We ended the night with the much anticipated Live Expert Panel featuring Carmen Barresi and Dr. Ana Cecilia Botero from Baptist Health South Florida. The two important topics for the evening session were Mental Health Awareness and Breast Health. Carmen and Dr. Botero informed all of the Moms about how to look out for warning signs in regards to the mind and the body. With mental health being so important now more than ever, Carmen gave us tips on how to protect and prepare for our mental health.
Dr. Botero provided excellent advice and statistics regarding the prevalence of breast cancer. Her advice regarding testing, self-examination, and even treatment options gave the Moms a lot of information to think about as well the encouragement needed to keep up those annual appointments. Breast cancer has affected all of us in some capacity and it was good to hear how we can help keep stay alert and aware.

Virtual Vendors and Giveaways!
Another great part of Bloom are all the (virtual) Vendors and the Giveaways that come with each! The giveaways started right away as Mommas walked in to the Kick Off Party! The next day over on Facebook, vendors shared about their services and/or products all day long! Moms learned about products including: organic baby food, soothing teas for babies and toddlers, and even mom-made coffee! Big shout out to all of our amazing vendors and giveaway partners!
Our Grand Prize Giveaways were 2 Motherhood Bundles valued at $650+ and a 2 Night Staycation plus $100 dinning credit at The Hilton Aventura Miami!

This year, there were 2 different kind of swag bags. General Admission Swag Bags were valued at over $100+ and our VIP’s scored swag bags worth more than $200+! Bloom tickets paid for themselves (and then some!) in just the SWAG! Some of my favorite items included an umbrella from Baptist Health South Florida, Chameleon coffee, full-size tea from Oomi Organics and a Bloom Planner! The swag this year was SO. SO. GOOD!

Photo Booth Fun & More!
What is a party without a photo booth? Each Mom who attended the Bloom 2021 Kick Off Party also had the opportunity to capture the fun with props and their (new) Mommy Friends! LNS Photo Booths is a Miami-local husband and wife duo who bring Miami a new modern open air photo booth, an instant hit to any occasion! What a treat for Moms to finally get IN FRONT OF the camera!
Also, a huge shout out and thank you to Simply Dreamy Photography for capturing the whole Kick Off Party Event as the official event photographer!

We are still reminiscing on all the fun we had at both the Bloom 2021 In-Person Kick Off Party and Virtual Bloom Event! We will continue to hope and pray for a more “normal way” to celebrate Bloom 2022 so we can celebrate all the mommas WITH the mommas!
