1st Annual Deck the Walls Event
Miami Mom Collective was excited to host our 1st Annual Deck The Walls Event on Friday, December 11th and again virtual on Tuesday, December 15th. This event was a national event of the City Mom Collective aimed to spread holiday cheer during what has been a challenging season for many.
Thank you to Simply Dreamy Photography for beautifully capturing the event photos!
Guests of the event gathered at the beautiful SPF 4 Rooftop at The Clevelander in South Beach, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean for a night of DIY fun. The rain couldn’t stop us from enjoying a much needed Moms Night Out! Each guest was greeted with a signature cocktail and canapés including polenta short ribs, parmesan crusted Brussel sprouts, and cranberry and cheese tartine.
It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like…
Christmas! We were overjoyed to spread Christmas cheer and provide a place for Moms to celebrate the season. Thanks to The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation, we were able to literally “deck the walls” of the hotel rooftop. The entire space smelled like a Christmas tree farm because of the abundance of fresh boughs including Fraser fur, pine, and cedar.
The gorgeous 8 foot flower wall provided by our friends at The Flower Wall Co. Miami provided the perfect space for selfies and photo opportunities.
Pipa and Belu created the statement piece of the event, the Deck The Walls marquee letters.
DIY Wreath-Making
Illiett Ojeda with Chasinbalance provided personalized DIY wreath instruction, helping each Mom to create a modern wreath that they felt proud of. Laughter, excitement, and even at times, focused silence filled the evening as everyone worked intently in their wreaths. At one point during the event, it began to rain. However, everyone was having such a great time that no one even seemed to notice!
The finished products were not only beautiful, but also meaningful since they had each been handmade.
Moms had the opportunity to shop with our amazing vendors who braved the rain with us: Gaia Skin and Fie Things.
Gaia Skin specializes in organic artisan luxury soaps.
Fie Things creates personalized custom gift baskets.
Tis the Season for Giving Back!
Thanks to the generous support of The Home Depot Foundation we were able to support one of our favorite local non-profits. It was our joy to partner with the Ronald McDoanld House Charities (RMHC) of South Florida for this event. A percentage of every ticket sold went back to support the work of RMHC.
In addition, some of the Moms at the event created additional wreaths to donate to families currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Miami. Did you know that for only $20 you can provide a place for a family in need. Check out the RMHC website to make a donation.
Swag & Giveaways
Santa surprised the guests with a special visit to deliver Swag Bags for each attendee. (It turns out that Santa must shop at The Home Depot!)
Each bag was filled with goodies like: Bodyarmor Sports Drinks, Gift Cards to Fie Things and Clean Ready Miami, samples from Monat, handmade ornaments from TuTu Factory by Cookie and NailedItDIY. A special amaryllis bulb from The Home Depot was also shared with each Mom as a reminder of the growth that happens in the bleak seasons of life.
What’s a Miami Mom Collective Event without giveaways? Thank you to our awesome Giveaway Partners who helped us treat the Moms to surprises just for them!
Giveaways included: Three Peaks Manuka Honey, a charcuterie wreath from Formaggi E Vino, tickets to Philip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science and Santa’s Spectacular by Swarm, gift cards from Clean Ready Miami, Petibisou Clothing, A Bit of Style, Hoos Miami along with handcrafted items from Fie Things, Art of Eden, Birdie & Babe, and Tinta y Tierra.
