WELCOME to the 305!

Love where you live! I love living in Hialeah! Hialeah is HOME. As a child, I grew up in a Cuban American household with my parents and grandparents. I can still smell Mima’s FRIJOLES NEGROS simmering in her SABROSO SAZON. Que Rico! In fact, I remember all the beautiful memories I had growing up in Hialeah, with my family. Park picnics at Amelia Earhart, delicious Cuban cuisines, Latin music, family and friend gatherings, and games of Dominoes are many of the memories I still hold dear to my heart. Moreover, I graduated from Hialeah High School as a proud T-Bred! With this said, I want the same upbringing for my own family. Keeping in touch with my culture is very important to me.

Latin foods (Love Where You Live: Why I Love Living in Hialeah Lorena Lougedo Contributor Miami Mom Collective)We are FAMILIA

My city, Hialeah, is a loving community. There is so much Hispanic diversity and friendly people. We are FAMILIA. Equally important, Hialeah blooms with small, family businesses serving the tastiest Latin cuisine. My family and I enjoy visiting EL RINCONCITO. Want a savory MOFONGO, this is the place to go! Enjoy some smashed, fried plantains mixed with pork chunks, garlic, salt, olive oil, and onions. Mmm! In addition, in the mood for some sweetness? Remember these words: QUE SWEET IT IS! Looking for a rich, smooth, warm CAFÉ CON LECHE with some delectable ham croquetas? Boy, are you in for a treat! VICKY BAKERY is the ultimate place to visit! Moreover, as a pizza lover, I also recommend DI’PIAZZA! It is Hialeah’s favorite pizza joint! Bon Appetit!

Get your “Southern Belle” hats and floral print dresses ready, gals! Hialeah is best known for its very own Hialeah Park Racing. You will be amazed at the park’s architecture. Many young ladies have their fifteen photoshoots here. Both my mother and I took our QUINCEANERA pictures at this location. It is a family tradition for many Hispanic families! I cannot wait to continue the tradition with my daughter!

Alma Mater:

Hialeah Alma Mater,
Thanks for seeds you’ve sown.
May your every son and daughter
Grow the way you’ve shown.
May we bloom in truth and beauty,
Fruitage of your care.
Faithful both in love and duty,
Glad our joys to share.
Ever loyal to each other,
Strong, upright, and free.
Hialeah, Alma Mater
May we honor thee.
