How are we already on winter break? School is out for winter and Miami is having a perfect weather moment to enjoy the break with some activities. But, we can also use the winter break to catch up on wellness appointments that have unintentionally made it to the bottom of our list. Here are some Miami places to visit this winter and you will also find a printable bucket and to-do list.
VISIT FAIRCHILD’S NIGHT AT THE GARDEN
The beautiful trails at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden have turned into an enchanting wonderland filled with lights. The transformation begins at 6:00 p.m. Go to our December guide for more details about this event.
ROOFTOP CINEMA SOUTH BEACH
If you don’t have a large yard and large projection screen, head over to RoofTop Cinema South Beach. Rooftop Cinema South Beach is the perfect place to watch an oldie holiday movie in the outdoors. Teens are welcome on designated nights and they offer woof-friendly nights. On December 23, at 7:15 p.m. they will be playing the famous 90’s movie Home Alone. Bring a blanket.
ZOO MIAMI CAMP
If mom has to work during the winter break, ZOO MIAMI has a two-week winter camp for kids ages 5-12. The hours for the camp are from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and they offer free aftercare until 5:30 p.m. Week 1 the kids will learn about amazing underwater creatures, courageous tiny mammals, and homes that the animals build themselves. Week 2 is set up to learn about the world of hunters and the hunted through games and fun activities, the unique roles of the ecosystem, and they can even play roles as animal detectives.
BUCKET LIST AND TO-DO LIST
We can also use the winter break to catch up with an old friend and their kids or maybe to check off an item from the to-do list. Here’s a printable bucket and to-do list with ideas. And be sure to check out our 2024 Holiday Events & Activities Guide and Local Playground Guide, too!
