Burr’s Berry Farm: Enjoy So Much More than Pumpkins

Thanks to our friends at Burr's Berry Farm for sponsoring this post. All opinions are our own!

Burr’s Berry Farm has become a yearly tradition for our family. Of all the fall harvest offerings found in Miami, Burr’s Berry Farm has the competition beat, hands down!

If you’re looking for:

  • Proximity to Miami
  • Bang for your buck
  • Fall in Florida
  • Fun for all ages
  • Awesome photo ops

then Burr’s Berry Farm has you covered.

We were able to go down to Burr’s Berry Farm during their Opening Weekend. The drive took only thirty minutes from the heart of Miami and we arrived early to beat the crowds and the heat. Go around the side of the historic country store to get your tickets and Corn Maze maps and then head in.

Our passes included a hay ride, barrel train ride, and a free ice cream cone for the kids. The kids wanted to go straight to their favorite, the Corn Pit, but not before we took advantage of the best of Burr’s Berry Farm: the amazing photo ops.

Photo Opportunities at Burr’s Berry Farm

Being able to take photos at Burr’s Berry Farm is worth the price of admission alone. Skip the fancy photographer this year and find a friend with portrait mode: the backdrops at Burr’s Berry Farm will make your grandma’s eyes pop.

They have a sweet display of scarecrows, pumpkins, and hay bales all with their beautiful corn fields and pumpkin patch as the backdrop.  An authentic John Deere tractor, corn fields, and pumpkins of all shape and sizes will make your relatives think you flew to the Midwest for your fall photo shoot. But most charming of all is their beautiful red antique truck.

You could line up all the cousins in the back of the bed for an adorable portrait. Or mom, maybe you want to try for an early Christmas present with some pin-up shots?

Playing in the Corn Pitt

The main event for our family is always the Corn Pit. It puts all the “Sensory Play” Pinterest boards to shame. Everyone enjoys it— from babies to teenagers. There is just something so zen about rubbing your toes through those grains of corn. Take your shoes off and try it Mom, I dare you.

My son loves to play King of the Mountain on the Tractor Tire Pyramid. It must be an amazing view from up there.

New to the Burr’s Berry Farm this year is a play set with giant slides as well as a family game area. Shuffle board, corn hole, and pumpkin tic-tac-toe can be found right across from the pumpkin patch. A concession stand sells popcorn, drinks, and other snacks so you don’t have to leave your game to satisfy your hunger.

Included in your admission are a hayride and barrel train ride. The barrel train gives the kids a tour of the farm in their own little cart, but the whole family can go along for the hayride.

We save the corn maze for last because we know that at the end we can go and get our ice cream. The kids get a map of the maze and run through the towering stalks of corn looking for the pumpkin stations so they can punch their tickets.

Once you find all of the stations, you can turn in your ticket for free ice cream.  The servings are huge! Try the strawberry, it will not disappoint. If you’re still hungry, Burr’s Berry Farm grills up fresh corn on the cob and has a food truck from Cuban Guys on the weekends.
