Cristina Young is an inspiring and enthusiastic therapist, facilitator, presenter, and licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). She recently relocated her private psychotherapy practice to Miami, where she is dedicated to helping adults enhance their parenting skills, relationships, and family dynamics. Cristina is a former teacher and mother of three with more than 25 years’ worth of experience.

She and her husband raised their family in Greenwich, CT before relocating to Miami in 2021. Having lived in Maryland, Washington, DC, New York City, Hawaii, California, Connecticut, and now Miami, Cristina knows how to make a variety of people feel welcome in her practice.

Services

Through individual sessions and weekly group sessions, Cristina facilitates conversations designed to provide people with relief and clarity. She is known for empowering adults with strategies to approach relationships with intention, awareness, and empathy. Through her individual sessions with clients, weekly parenting groups, presentations, and retreats, Cristina facilitates opportunities for connection. She provides her clients the tools, insights, and confidence necessary to navigate the difficulties inherent in every relationship. Her presentations and workshops highlight the challenges we all struggle with, but participants always leave with solutions and strategies. 

Individual sessions:

  • One-on-one sessions for adults seeking support pertaining to a wide variety of parenting issues. These sessions are designed to provide clients with specific tools and tactics, as well as an overall mindset for parenting more peacefully.
  • Cristina offers her sessions on Zoom, over the phone, or in-person. Expect a one hour, solution-focused, collaborative conversation with follow-up notes emailed to the client that keep both therapist and client on track with their goals. 

Groups: 

  • Weekly parenting groups provide adults with camaraderie and solutions. Through shared stories and observations, members quickly see that they are not alone in their parenting struggles. Cristina creates a safe space for group members to discuss strategies, resources, and insights.
  • In these on-going groups that follow the school-year calendar, Cristina facilitates an informed discussion of best practices for parents with kids of similar ages. Group members benefit from Cristina’s expertise as a therapist, teacher, and mother. 

Presentations: 

  • Cristina enjoys presenting to a variety of audiences. Customized programs are available for parents, faculty, or employees. They are interactive, research-based, and solution-focused, providing actionable takeaways. Programs target your organization’s specific needs. 60-90 minute programs available.

Cristina enjoys helping group members form deep bonds, support each other through ups and downs, and learn helpful parenting strategies. Facilitating these connections and providing a sense of camaraderie and competence for parents is what she does best.
