Bloom 2020: A Celebration of Motherhood is one of the most special events that Miami Mom Collective hosts each year. It truly is a celebration of mothers with a special emphasis on equipping and encouraging new and expectant moms. This year our 2nd Annual Bloom Event (originally planned for May 20202) was postponed due to COVID-19 but we didn’t let that “rain on our parade.” In order to provide a safe event for all guests and partners we opted for something totally new: a VIRTUAL Bloom Event and we are so glad we did!

About Bloom 2020
More than 100 women attended the virtual event which took place in a Private Facebook Group on Tuesday, September 29th. The event began at 10AM and continued throughout the day with sponsor features, giveaways, games, and surprises until 10PM! To say it was our longest and rewarding event would be an understatement!
The event culminated with live sessions in the evening – the perfect opportunity for Moms to “gather virtually” and ask questions of our live panelists. Many moms left the event with new friendships, great advice from experts and other Moms and lots of awesome prizes!
Live Happy Hour with Celebrity Chef Ralph Pagano
At 5PM we enjoyed a LIVE Happy Hour with Celebrity Chef Ralph Pagano of Naked Taco. Chef Ralph not only kept the Moms entertained and laughing, he also coached us through how to create his world-class tuna nachos and a passionfruit jalapeño margarita. The moms left the live session ready to impress guests this holiday season with the tricks learned from Chef Ralph! Click the video below to watch the segment!
Expert Panel Presented by Mercy Hospital
Mercy Hospital provided three outstanding panelists for our New & Expectant Mom-focused panel at Bloom 2020.
Dr. Maria Plata, a neonatologist at Mercy Hospital, shared encouragement with moms who had questions about the NICU. She also updated us on all of the current COVID-19 protocols and procedures in place at the hospital.
Dr. Ernesto Cardenas shared his knowledge about obstetrics and gynecology as he fielded questions about everything from labor and delivery to postpartum depression and anxiety.
Anita Jiha, Certified Lactation Consultant, offered her tips, tricks, and insights about breastfeeding. Click the video below to watch the segment!
Expert Panel Presented by Dr. Bob Pediatric Dentist
Because we can’t get enough of great resources and information to help us with #momlife – we had a 2nd Expert Panel presented by Dr. Bob Pediatric Dentist. This late night panel was the icing on the cake for our attendees!
Dr. Christopher Bob answered questions about how to support our children’s overall dental health. He also provided tips about the best products to use for teething and pediatric dental care.
Dr. Eddie Martinez from Coconut Grove Chiropractic shared about the benefits of chiropractic for the entire family!
Reana Myers, PA with Careaga Plastic Surgery answered the moms’ burning questions about surgical and nonsurgical options including laser treatments and botox.
Janelle Dangerfield with Florida Blue helped us navigate the world of insurance benefits. She also shared about the amazing perks available to Moms through Florida Blue! Click the video below to watch the segment!

Swag Pick-Up at Mercy Hospital
Moms were able to drive through Mercy Hospital’s Bayside Pavilion which made for a safe and easy way to pick up their swag bags.
Event attendees had the opportunity to snap a selfie at our beautiful photo opp set-up thanks to: Party Gifts Solutions, The Flower Wall Co Miami, and Passion Flowers Ventures.

Featured Non-Profit: Miami Diaper Bank
Our Bloom event benefitted the Miami Diaper Bank – an outstanding organization helping mothers I need diaper their babies. The Miami Diaper Bank has distributed more than 3.6 MILLION diapers to families in need in South Florida! It’s easy to see why they are one of our favorite non-profit organizations in Miami. A portion of Bloom ticket sales were given to Miami Diaper Bank to help provide diapers to families in South Florida!

This was such a great event!
As a new mom from Miami, I think I was lucky enough to take part in Bloom event. Never heard of it before, and I can’t believe how cool the event was for all the Miami moms even as a virtual one. I am just hoping next year I get to see and be there physically with all the other moms and take part in Bloom tradition.
