Dear Small Business Owner,

I see you. I see you trying new ways to advertise. I see you trying different avenues to generate income. I see you working as hard as ever to make things happen. How do I know? I watch my husband run two small businesses simultaneously. 

These times seem so uncertain, so strange, so uncharted. That is because they are! Never have we ever experienced anything like this. I cannot predict what our future holds, but I do want you to know that you need to keep going!

Advertise as much as you can. Reinvent yourself as much as you can. Give yourself leeway to make mistakes, but grow from these mistakes. Do not let them defeat you! Take this article as your sign to not throw in the towel.

Dear Consumer,

I know these times are when we want to hang on to our pocketbooks and not spend freely. But I really do urge you to find at least one small business and go out of your way to buy from them. This one purchase would mean the world to them. If you are one of the fortunate ones who is still making a steady income, it really is imperative that you do this!

Go ahead and buy that shirt with the funny saying. Go ahead and buy that homemade candle or facial kit. Buy the small piece of jewelry that will remind you of all the time you got to spend with your family. Buy the make at home craft kit to create new memories! Buy the yummy bagel from the mom and pop shop down the block. 

Bottom line: really try to support these guys, because they are the ones who help us out for our fundraisers, our galas, our charity events. They are the ones who are willing to go the extra mile to get that smile. They are the ones who send you a handwritten note with each purchase.
