Hey! Nice to meet you! I’m Katy.

I’m a mother of two. León is my kind and energetic six years old, and Alanna my happy and curious one-year-old. As a hairstylist, makeup artist, and beauty blogger, I believe that beauty is the transformation into your true self. I use hair and makeup as tools bring out that inner beauty. 

I’m excited to be here and share my expert beauty tips with other Miami Moms. 

Miami

I was born in Venezuela and spent a lot of time vacationing in Miami throughout my childhood. I enjoyed the beautiful beaches, mall shopping sprees, and meeting with the Cuban side of my family. My grandfather loved Miami so much he had a second home here. 

My husband and I got married in 2010 and a week later we moved from Venezuela to Israel. In 2013, Leon was born in Jerusalem. When I was pregnant with Alanna in January 2018 we decided to move to Miami to be closer to my side of the family.

In Miami, we found a welcoming home, a city as colorful as I remember from my childhood, and a place full of amazing happy people willing to help us grow. We truly felt like we’d returned home. I have to say that living close to my family is definitely one of the biggest perks of living in this beautiful city! We live in Aventura surrounded by family and childhood friends, almost like my beloved Caracas. I am super excited to live in a city that allows me to meet interesting and amazing people every day. 

Moms

David and I are high-school sweethearts. We’ve been together since I was 14. In June 2013, three years after we got married, León came to our lives and taught us to be as happy as he is energetic, smart, and absolutely hilarious. Being a parent taught us that life has so many ways of being perfect. Our biggest blessing is that León is an amazing big brother.

In May 2018, Alanna was born. She’s curious, loud, and sweet. Each of our children has brought beautiful blessings and changed our lives in wonderful ways. 

My kids are happy and easy. Our parenting philosophy is to teach them to be independent and surround them by love. We have simple rules of respect, good food, and kindness. I’m still breastfeeding Alanna (she’s 13 months), and I did so for a year and a half for León. It’s been a bumpy road, but one well worth traveling. 

We love to hang out together, watch movies (especially Disney, superhero, and Star Wars movies) and discover exciting new places. I love being a working mom and I’m grateful for the love and support of my family, especially my husband, who makes it all possible. I owe a huge part of my career to my family and to my kids, who always give me reasons to push even further. 

Blog

Teaching and sharing knowledge are two things I love. I started blogging to share beauty content on my website and then I fell in love with writing.

I write about beauty tips, my inspirations, and my journey. Through my writing, I strive to create the best content, simplifying beauty for women, and inspiring them to use beauty as a way to transform into their true selves. 

I’m excited to be a Miami Moms Blog Contributor and to have a space to share my mom wins and challenges. Mostly, I hope to inspire you to take some time each day to be the prettiest mom you can be. Beauty is the best way I can say I LOVE ME!
