Hi everyone! My name is Alisa Britton and I am a long-time Miamian and new-ish mom. After a 12 year career in sales and management, I began adventuring in my new world as a stay-at-home mom and Beachbody coach in 2020. What a wild ride it’s been! I love to share my daily life navigating young motherhood, my health and wellness journey, and other fun through my page on Instagram.
My mom and her family migrated to Miami from Cuba when she was six years old. I was born in Minnesota but I was raised and have lived in Miami since I was just a toddler. My heart belongs to both Minnesota and Miami because I have loved ones in both places but my home is in Miami. I have friends who call me “cubasotan” and I have adopted it because as I like to say, I am a rare breed. I love Miami because almost all of my and my husband’s family are here. We are always surrounded by love and that’s why we could never leave.
I became a mom for the first time on September 20, 2018. Audrey Elizabeth was born three days before my 30th birthday. Two years and a few months later, we welcomed our second baby girl, Aliyah Rochelle. While Jon and I had both worked demanding jobs our entire marriage together, I became a stay-at-home mom for the first time in February 2020, two months before becoming pregnant with our second daughter. I have now experienced both motherhood as a work outside of the home mom and as a mom from home and I can gladly share with you the value of both, the hard work that goes into both, and the unconditional love of either. These days I find myself either feeding a quickly growing baby or negotiating with a very persuasive toddler. There is truly never a dull moment.
I love community because it allows us to celebrate and use the unique strengths that different people can bring to the table while we build each other up to make a greater whole. It is what I am most passionate about and why I love teams. I am incredibly excited to be part of Miami Mom Collective. I can’t wait to learn from other moms and serve them in any way I can.
