Hi Miami Mom Collective Community! My name is Aymee Blanco and I am thrilled to be one of the newest members of the Miami Mom Collective team. I hope to provide you with my unique perspective on Miami mom life and share valuable resources to help and inspire your parenting journey.

I am a Florida licensed attorney that practiced in the areas of family law, real estate law, and most recently as a prosecutor for the Florida Department of Children and Families that handled difficult cases dealing with child abuse, abandonment, or neglect. After becoming a mom, I decided to join my husband’s business in personal insurance. Then, I opened my own insurance office in 2016. Since that time, we have welcomed one more daughter, and have our third little girl on the way!

Miami

Born and raised in Miami, I can definitely recall many special memories all around this beautiful city. From attending high school at one of the prettiest campuses in Miami overlooking the Bay (La Salle High School), to meeting my husband at an iconic South Miami hangout (Bougainvilleas), Miami has been an incredible city for me and my family. I am proud to be a part of the deeply rooted Cuban community here as well. Both my husband and I attended the University of Miami. So we bleed orange and green with many of our fellow Miamians! We find it a privilege to live in Miami. Not only for its incredible climate and amazing cuisine but for the diversity of people and the richness in culture that we’re excited to share with our children as they grow up.

Mom

I met my husband, Alex, while I was in law school at FIU College of Law. We dated for 4 years until he proposed at Tavern on Green in Central Park in New York City! It was a memorable start to our journey of marriage and parenthood. We married in 2011 and welcomed our first daughter Anabelle in 2014. We had our second daughter, Audrey, in 2017, and are expecting our third daughter in May of 2021. Her name is still undecided. But you can see the trend we’ve started and need to continue!

This year we’ll be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary as well. We are homebodies. We love to spend our weekends watching movies, playing outside, or riding our golf cart around to pick up smoothies. Every Friday is Pizza and Movie Night, and we love to spend time with our extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins that luckily live a few minutes away.

Collective

Joining the Miami Mom Collective community as a contributor is such an exciting and welcome opportunity for me to connect with the incredibly talented co-contributors and members. I am continually amazed at how much we moms (and dads) are capable of doing these days.

It’s an exciting and also challenging time to be a parent now. There are so many resources available to us. There’s so much technology at our disposal, and the world is much bigger than it used to be. I aim to be a guiding light and source of inspiration, to help us all navigate through the challenges, but also the benefits of being a parent in this amazing city and during these times. Follow me on Instagram for original content featuring Florida family lifestyle and home design as I now pursue my other passions in freelance writing, event styling, and interior decorating.
