Hey Guys, what’s up!? My name is Jessica Morales, but everyone calls me Jess. I was born and raised in Miami and I am proud to be from the 305. I’m also very proud to be Cuban and Puerto Rican. I love my cafecito and croquetas!

Miami

After high school, I married, became a military wife, and left Miami. We moved worldwide and had two beautiful daughters, Aria and Ellie. My life appeared “perfect” to the world, but my marriage was falling apart. I decided to end that chapter of my life and begin a new one. Over the past few years, our family has learned what it takes to be strong. Our life is crazy! It’s full of laughter and friendship. Of hope. We let the light shine through our broken pieces no matter how hard it got.

Love comes in the most unexpected ways and times. A few years ago, I met Taj at the gym. Our dates consisted of working out and then grabbing something to eat after. I never imagined I would trust my heart with anyone else again. But here we are, and I could not be happier!

Mom

We have four kids and two dogs that make up our family that is blended perfectly together. Sophie, my step-daughter who lives in Atlanta is 10 years old and spends summers with us and every opportunity available. Aria is 8 years old, Ellie is 5 years old, and our baby Rai is 5 months old. He’s everyone’s favorite chunky baby. They are my life, my whole world and I would just be lost without them. Troy is our senior dog and Mellow is our puppy. (We actually got him right before I found out I was pregnant.) We’re kind of your modern-day Brady Bunch, except add a little spice!

Family isn’t always blood. It’s a choice, an intention, the people that show up for the good, the bad, and the completely unexpected. Motherhood has brought me my closest friends. They listen without judgment and are supportive in every way possible. I hope to connect with other Miami moms to offer support during motherhood’s highs and lows. Blogging has always been an interest of mine; however, I was always a little apprehensive about putting myself out there. Luckily with the encouragement from my friends and family, I decided to apply for Miami Mom Collective. “I’m just going to do it!” So here we are. I am so excited to be a part of the team!
