Hi to all the mommies out there! My name is Natasha Arias and I am super excited to be a Miami Mom Collective (MMC) contributor. I am a mom of 3 and a proud UPS wife. In all that craziness I run a small home-based business. I am excited to share with you all my experiences of this wonderful title called Mom.

MIAMI

I was born and raised here in Miami, FL. Both my parents are from Cuba and came to the United States at a young age. I have always lived here, and I love it. It’s where I met the love of my life, Fernando. We met at Eckerd Drugs–I know it’s no longer called that, now it’s CVS. But nonetheless, we met at work. Fun fact, guess where we went on our first date… he took me to Burger King (yep, believe it or not). He was only able to afford to get me a shake.

Fast-forward we had our first daughter at the young ages of just 19 and 20. And the rest is history! We have 3 extraordinary kids. We have been married for 25 years. I thank God every day for me sticking around after our first date and not listening to others telling me not to bother with him. Miami is our home. It’s paradise for most, but for me, it’s where all my best memories are. Plus bonus beautiful beaches.

MOM

I never really thought about having kids, especially at the young age of 19. But God had other plans for us. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Things don’t always go as planned. So, with that being said let me take you through this journey we call motherhood.

In 1998 we had a beautiful baby girl named Nicole who is now 23 and in nursing school. A strong-minded girl but such a good heart. She is our pride and joy. Then God blessed us with another girl named Kaytlin. She is now 20 and studying to be a child psychologist. Such an amazing child; a true character and good-hearted and yes, our pride and joy too. Middle child, enough said, right?! We will talk about that soon. And then there’s our last child, our son. You could imagine the joy we had when we heard it was a boy. Named after my dad Steven, he is 17 now. A junior in high school at a Cambridge School. Super smart kid just like his mom (don’t tell my husband). The sweetest kid you will ever meet, our pride and joy. Yes, all 3 are our pride and joy. Each is different, but I’m still so proud to be their mom.

Being young parents was not always easy. But together we are raising amazing kids the best way we can. Being a young new mom is definitely an overwhelming feeling and you can sometimes feel like you’re doing everything wrong. Kids don’t come with a manual; can you imagine if they did? It would probably be easier!

I still consider myself learning every day in motherhood even though they are older. You never stop being a mom.  I feel like I’m at a new level of motherhood.

COLLECTIVE

I’m excited to be a part of this astonishing group of moms. I never thought I would ever join a mom group but here I am part of Miami Mom Collective and loving it. I was looking for a group of moms that I could help and share my experiences with. And they could also relate with me on this thing called mom life. A good friend of mine is part of the tribe, and she introduced me to the group. I was hooked from the beginning.

Going to my first Miami Mom Collective event I never thought I would be accepted and welcomed. Being a new member in a group of women that know each other already is hard. But boy was wrong. They wanted to know about me and welcomed me from the start. I felt part of the family. And I am excited to do this adventure called MOTHERHOOD with such an amazing tribe.
