Recently my sister in law and I had the opportunity to visit Blo Brickell, a Blow Dry Bar conveniently located in Mary Brickell Village. As a busy Mom, I have never taken the time to have a blow out but I am glad I finally decided to treat myself! (It won’t be the last!)
The new owner of Blo Brickell is an adorable Mom of 2 named Mendy who recently transplanted from France. (Oui! Oui!) She has the sweetest demeanor and an even bigger vision for all the ways she wants to grow the business to serve Moms in Miami. We dreamed together about a Mommy & Me Event at the salon or a future Mom’s Night Out Event? (maybe coming soon, stay tuned!)
The salon is chic and decorated with a modern, girly vibe and it is incredibly clean. This is something I’m always extra aware of at salons! Equipped with lush, comfy chairs and accents of hot pink, the salon feels like a fun getaway from the usual salon visit. Blo is not your typical salon. You don’t come here for cuts or color but you can expect excellence in one thing: blow-outs! They have a catchy tagline that describes their concept perfectly, “You’re not cheating on your hairdresser!”
When I arrived for my appointment my hair was totally windblown from a beautifully hot and humid day in South Florida. (See the before and after photo below). I needed help getting “headshot ready” and quick!
What I really loved about Blo was how efficient they were. I didn’t have to wait one minute when I arrived. My stylist got right to it. As a Mom of a toddler and business owner, my free time is precious and I don’t like to arrive somewhere and have to wait too long. This was my first “thumbs up” about Blo’s service.
Is it just me or is the best part of any visit to the salon the hair washing experience? It’s my favorite! At Blo it’s one of the best features of the blowout experience too. Using quality products the blowout process begins with a shampoo and conditioning that seems to be extended beyond what I typically receive at my usual salon. Love it!
I chose to have the Signature Blowout and my stylist worked his magic to create smooth natural looking curls. My sister-in-law went with the beach waves and was not disappointed.
Mendy sat beside me and chatted while I sipped on a drink she offered me. It felt like I was hanging out with an old friend. I loved this about my visit. Did I mention she sent us home with a gift bag?
I can get a blowout anywhere, but to also receive excellent customer service and connect in a meaningful way with another Mom is, in my book, priceless. Mendy and her team at Blo truly won me over. Literally, “blown away” (pun intended). I will definitely be back! Now I just have to convince my husband that I need a weekly appointment at the Blowout Bar, you know for “self-care and sanity sake.” I think I can convince him, don’t you? 😉
