Did you know that National Doughnut Day is June 7th?
It seems like there is a National Day for everything under the sun. National Bean Day (January 6), National Mustard Day (August 3), there’s even National House Plant Appreciation Day (January 10)?! We could honestly do without most of these absurd “holidays.”
However, this particular one originated in 1938 when the Salvation Army raised money to benefit volunteers who served soldiers in the WW1.
If you ask us, National Doughnut Day is here to stay!
Miami is known for its beaches and nightlife. However, it’s also growing a name for itself among foodies worldwide with the explosion of artisan doughnuts!

Velvet Creme Doughnuts
We love a good story and Velvet Creme sure has one! This doughnut icon has a history in Miami dating all the way back to 1947 when it first began serving guests in an area of town that would later become “Little Havana.” The original owner at one time delivered doughnuts by bicycle which later grew to a fleet of vans delivering all over the city. The business took a hiatus from 2000 until 2014 when the brand was revived and now is settled back where it all began in Little Havana.

Doughnuts, coffee, and ice cream await you at Velvet Creme. Keep an eye out for their Food Truck too!
Location & Hours of Operation:
1555 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida 33135
Open: Sunday-Thursday 7AM-7PM & Friday-Saturday 7AM-11PM
