There’s something so lovely and festive about a holiday concert or performance. The traditional toy soldiers, nutcrackers, choirs, and carols have a way of lighting up the holiday season in a unique and special way. Especially when we are able to share those holiday activities with our kids.

Even though the Miami area is sprawled and densely populated, you can still find that small-town feel at a local park or stage. And whether you see a professional ballet company or take in a concert at a neighborhood event, you’ll likely leave with those warm fuzzies that make the season bright.

December 5 – 15 | Multiple Showtimes | Aventura Mall

It’s time to celebrate the arrival of the Venardos Circus, a Broadway-style animal-free circus. The show will be held next to Aventura Mall from December 5 – 15, 2024. The Decade of Dreams edition promises a magical and exhilarating experience for guests. The show features aerialists, jugglers, comedians and acrobats with innovative acts in a reimagined showcase. The 2024 Venardos Circus is traveling with a custom-crafted, Italian-made red-and-white striped tent that offers expansive seating for an immersive experience and glorious views where artists fly high. Guests can expect to travel back in time to the center ring of a centuries-old tradition, but one that has been masterfully reinvented for a new generation.

November 29 – December 22 | Multiple Showtimes 

Join Fantasy Theatre Factory for Scrooge! A Fractured Christmas Carol, a fresh and funny take on the timeless holiday classic! Running from November 29 to December 22, this lively production celebrates diverse traditions, including Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa, while delivering a heartwarming message of love and generosity. Perfect for audiences of all ages, this festive show is packed with laughs, holiday spirit, and plenty of heart. Don’t miss this magical journey for ONLY $5 that’s sure to brighten your season!

December 31 – January 2 | Multiple Showtimes 

Celebrate the new year at the Arsht with the brilliant and whimsical family holiday spectacular CIRQUE DREAMS CELEBRATION! As the longest-running cirque holiday event, this annual tradition wraps a Broadway-style production around contemporary circus arts. As lights dim and music swells, audiences will have visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads as a fantastical cast of holiday storybook characters come to life onstage. With an original score, twists on holiday classics and new sets, scenery and storylines, this ultimate holiday gift for the entire family is sure to put a twinkle in your eyes!

In this South Florida premiere, Black Nativity is an African-American telling of the Nativity story, based on the song play written by acclaimed African-American poet and playwright Langston Hughes. The show recreates the journey of Mary and Joseph, resplendent in African costumes, to Bethlehem, accompanied by a rousing repertoire of spirituals. The combined African-American viewpoint and gospel music make Black Nativity a truly unique and entertaining theatrical experience.
