There’s something so lovely and festive about a holiday concert or performance. The traditional toy soldiers, nutcrackers, choirs, and carols have a way of lighting up the holiday season in a unique and special way. Especially when we are able to share those holiday activities with our kids.
Even though the Miami area is sprawled and densely populated, you can still find that smalltown feel at a local park or stage. And whether you see a professional ballet company or take in an in-person or virtual concert at a neighborhood event, you’ll likely leave with those warm fuzzies that make the season bright.

Nights of Lights at Pinecrest Gardens
Pinecrest Gardens transforms into a winter wonderland dotted by thousands of twinkling lights that go up, through, and around the whimsical botanical landscape. This year we are adding a whole new section of sparkling holiday lights and amazing surprises in our Lower Gardens. Eat yummy treats, have a signature Pinecrest Gardens cocktail, and enjoy magical Story Time with Mrs. Claus. Stay tuned for Santa Claus special appearances on the Banyan Bowl stage!
On select evenings, admission includes a holiday concert performance in the historic Banyan Bowl. Due to COVID-19 social distance guidelines, we are limiting our daily capacity for this event. Walk-ups might be possible, please check our website and social media platforms for updates.
Miami City Ballet
The Nutcracker® in the Park
Miami City Ballet presents George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® in the Park, live in Downtown Doral Park, in the heart of Miami-Dade. From your socially-distanced pod on the lawn, you and your loved ones watch the iconic moments unfold through a combination of live performance, animation, and video sequences projected on a giant screen. This magical, open-air experience prioritizes health and safety and will open with a free (but ticketed) performance exclusively for first responders and essential workers who have served as front line heroes of the pandemic. Tickets sold in pods of up to 4 people from $120 ($30pp). Limited to 13 performances, so secure your seats to your cherished holiday tradition now!
South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center
World premiere performances of Manual Cinema’s Christmas Carol will be performed live in Manual Cinema’s Chicago studio in a socially distanced manner, and live-streamed to audiences at home on December 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th. The stream will be delivered by Marquee TV. In signature Manual Cinema fashion, hundreds of paper puppets, miniatures, silhouettes, and a live original score will come together to tell an imaginative re-invention of this cherished holiday classic.
