Thomas Dambo is an artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Together with his crew, Thomas makes beautiful and fun projects out of “trash” / recycled materials, which they find around the city dumpsters. By doing this, he hopes to inspire people to have fun and think of trash as a resource.
Fun Facts:
Pinecrest Gardens Trolls are #56 and #57 he has created worldwide
Each troll has a name and a story about them
Every troll is made from approximately 100 recycled pallets
Each Troll has about 25,000 screws
Each troll has been shaped out of reclaimed wood, illustrating the artist’s self-described ability to make “anything you can imagine out of trash.”
While the figures’ gesturing hands, giant feet, and expressive faces were crafted in Copenhagen, their colossal bodies are built on-site. Once assembled, most of the trolls measure anywhere from 15 to 30 feet in length.
