When our kids grow up, they won’t remember the fancy holiday clothes they wore or how many likes your Thanksgiving tablescape got on Instagram. They’ll remember the traditions and the family memories made. Despite the holidays being an extra busy season, let’s make time to bond with our little ones. One way we do that at our house is by getting in the kitchen and making fun, kid-friendly desserts. In the spirit of the holidays and spending quality time with our families, here are 5 fun, easy treats to make with your kids this Thanksgiving. And remember, it’s not about slaving away in the kitchen all day or ensuring perfection, it’s about cherishing the moment and having fun — Pinterest fails and all!
Turkey Milanos
If you’re short on time and don’t want anything overly-complicated, these are ideal. Like all the desserts listed here, there is no baking required and these take just seconds to complete!
Just follow these easy steps:
- Melt chocolate
- Dip Milano cookies in melted chocolate
- Before the chocolate hardens, add eyeball sprinkles, candy corn for the beak and tail, and slivered almonds for wings
- Add a small dollop of red frosting next to the “beak” to top it off
Rice Krispies Pumpkin Pie
Kids are often averse to the strong pumpkin spice flavors of the traditional Turkey Day favorite, but they’re sure to love this Rice Krispies version!

Candy Acorns
The hardest part of making these is not eating them all as you go along.

Pumpkin Patch Pudding
Your little ones will love “planting” the pumpkins in the patch as you prep this dessert!

Harvest Corn Nutter Butters
Peanut butter lovers finally get their fix during Thanksgiving with these adorable “corn” pops.
