Ineabelle Soto along with her husband, Anderson, launched Artsy Hive in June 2017 in the quintessential and equally quaint, downtown area of Miami Shores. Artsy Hive is the chicest paint your own pottery shop you will ever visit! Your creativity is sparked the moment you walk in the door. The declaration to “Get Artsy” greets you not only through the clean, modern decor of the studio but also through the warm hospitality offered by Ini and her team. You feel as if you belong there. This is truly one of the most endearing qualities of the Artsy Hive experience — you actually DO
belong there.
Artsy Hive is not your average “kids-only” paint your own pottery place.
Ini and her team take this experience to a new level! Artists of all ages are welcome and even Corporate Groups can bring their staff for Team Building sessions.
Miami Moms Blog took advantage of the opportunity to visit the location and channel our inner Picasso as a team (sans kiddos). The relaxed atmosphere coupled with a chance to express our creativity made for a therapeutic experience.
Mom Boss Ini shared her story about building a business from the ground up all while maintaining a family life. Every mom in our group could identify with the passion she exuded. Her honesty encouraged all of us to stay committed in our personal attempts to balance business and family life. We came to paint pottery but we all left with a meaningful lesson. It’s true that you always learn more by doing!
Ini gave us a brief explanation of the Artsy Hive process:
- Choose your pottery
- Paint it (with non-toxic, food-safe paint)
- Leave it for them to glaze and fire
- Pick-up in 5-7 days!
It really is that simple! The prices are all-inclusive and the pottery options include things you actually want to have in your house like trendy mugs, trivets, bowls, frames, and figurines for the kids!
One of the most beautiful things about the close-knit Miami Shores community is how local businesses support each other. Ini had an outstanding spread of snacks and drinks from Mima Market, a local artisansal food and drink shop. You can order from Mima Market while you paint and have it delivered directly to your table!
Let’s just talk about this spread (it was too good not to share):
- Mushroom, goat cheese & caramelized onion empanadas, chicken empanadas, eggplant empanadas, spinach & mozzarella empanadas – all from Fufi Restaurant in Buena Vista (basically empanada heaven!)
- Chocolate Chip, Rocky Road, Nutella & Leon Curd cookie bites from Cindy Lou’s Cookies in Little River
- Fresh Watermelon Juice from El Palacio de Los Jugos in Hialeah
It was the perfect Mom’s Night Out as well as a meaningful team building opportunity for our team. I highly recommend gathering a group of your Mom friends and enjoying a night out at Artsy Hive. We all kept commenting how much our children would love the experience and promised to bring them back. (We felt a little guilty at first that we were having so much fun without them!) To date, at least 4 of our contributors have already returned with their families for another Artsy Hive experience. It’s addicting, in the best way possible!
