The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secrets of the Sewer exhibit at the Miami Children’s Museum is fun for the whole family! Whether you’re looking to cool off on a hot day or stay dry during an afternoon thunderstorm, it’s a must-visit this summer.
It’s a nostalgia-filled adventure for parents who grew up with the popular reptiles, while kids of a new generation will enjoy discovering these superheroes for the first time!
THE EXHIBIT
Similar to their other exhibits, #TMNTatMiChiMu is full of learn-while-you-play interactive fun! Some of the highlights? Flinging pizza at the bad guys, playing in the sewer, and taking the quiz to see which Ninja Turtle we’re most like.
While exploring the environments, children and their families will:
- Learn the value of hard work, focus, and practice in the Dojo and Master Splinter’s room while engaging in various physical and intellectual challenges.
- Explore the lair’s common area and discover the individual skills each Turtle brings to the team such as leadership, creative problem-solving, speed, and humor!
- Test their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles knowledge in trivia games and discover hidden scenes from the Turtle lair.
- Test their own reflexes, balance, and creative building skills in a variety of hands-on or full-body activities.
- Try their hands at creative problem-solving, as well as learning from mistakes in Donnie’s lab while strategizing through challenging puzzles and mazes.
- Put their new skills into practice on the streets of NYC as they help the Turtles crack codes, maneuver through a back-alley rope maze, ward off bad guys with a pizza thrower, and work together to drive the shell-raiser back to the sewer lair.

THE EVENING
The museum invited Miami Mom Collective to their Members Only Preview Party for the ribbon cutting where they served up some activations to get in the Cowabunga spirit. They armed us with Ninja Turtle Masks and MiChiMu capes and sent us inside for an evening of fun, including a DIY Pizza Fueling Station, Radioactive Ooze (aka slime-making), Ninja Training Course, Ninja Name Graffiti, Turtle Squad Photos thanks to green screen magic and a Ninja School Graduation Day Theater Show. The immersive experience was just as fun for the parents as it was for the kids!
THE MUSEUM
Miami Children’s Museum is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to enriching the lives of all children by fostering a love of learning through play and enabling children to realize their highest potential. Their 56,000-square-foot facility includes over 17 interactive exhibits, a preschool, a charter school, and a 200-seat auditorium.
