Thanksgiving decorations… just thinking of it puts a smile on my face. It’s the perfect time to bring out that little extra.
I have always been into interior design, and I re-decorate our house all the time. Growing up I remember my mom was like that too. In fact, she still is. Every season she changes our curtains, the cushions, and she puts new decorations in. And every night she lights a ton of candles. I loved it, and I still do.
So you could say that in our home things change a lot during this season. And every year I change some of my decorations and how I style them. Just to mix it up a little. So to help you get in a little decoration mood, I’ve put together a little guide for you. It’s different styles, and I’m sure you all can find some inspiration in these beautiful pictures.
A Rustic Thanksgiving
This is maybe my favorite, maybe because it reminds me a little of home. When we lived in Norway I always used to go outside and pick cones, leaves, and moss that I incorporated into our decorations.
A Farm House Style Thanksgiving
This is a style you rarely see back home, but I love it. It brings out a feeling of family gathering, and for me, it somehow reminds me of my Grandma. They used to live on a big farm and these pictures bring me back to my childhood when she used to cook for all of her grandchildren. And she always let us help out.
A Modern Thanksgiving With a Little Scandinavian Feel
This style reminds me of Scandinavia. It’s simple and sleek, yet very elegant. Being a
Scandinavian myself this sort of speaks to me. Thanksgiving isn’t a holiday that you’ll find in Scandinavia. So you won’t find a lot of Thanksgiving decorations in this category. But the warm colors that you’ll find outside in the fall are typically brought inside when the nights get darker and the temperature colder. And that reminds me of Thanksgiving.
I hope that these little mood boards can give you some inspiration for the Holidays. All the pictures are from Pinterest. I always use Pinterest to get inspiration for my little projects.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
Love these ideas, Rachel! Thanks for putting this together!
