New Year’s Eve With Kids? A Parents’ Guide to Fun and Parties

0

Miami has so much to offer the family for New Year’s Eve, between the peachy weather, palm trees, and beaches the events and opportunities are endless. I’ve compiled a few fun events and created a DIY moms’ guide to get you excited about celebrating the New Year from either the comfort of your home or at a family-friendly event.

Orange Drop at Bayfront Park

Every year, Miami drops it like it’s hot, the orange New Year’s ball drop, I mean 🙂  They party hard with fireworks, celebrities and a fun environment for all. It makes the list of the top 10 places in the world to be on New Year’s Eve.

The location has plenty of security to help everyone feel safe and secure.

  • When: December 31, 2018
  • Where: Bayfront Park 301 N. Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132

Noon Year’s Eve Celebration -Miami Children’s Museum

  • When: December 31st
  • Where: Miami Children’s Museum
  • Time: 11:00am-4:00pm

Ring in the new year (a few hours early) with a countdown, balloon drop, and tons of confetti for a memorable family visit to the Miami Children’s Museum. The party starts at 11am and ends when the museum closes early at 4pm; this is a great opportunity to get the kids in bed early and so that you enjoy an adult evening.

If you are a little bit of a homebody here are a few fun activities to get you in the NYE Spirit from the comfort of your home:

New Year’s Eve Bingo

You can never go wrong with Bingo! Check out this free printable by Playdough to Plato, then just print and play!

New Year’s Eve Balloon Pop Countdown

I found a great idea on Suburban Mom to make the countdown much more fun! The hour by hour balloon pop will give kids something to look forward to by the hour. You can fill the inside of the balloon with confetti or with sweet notes for your little ones.

Family Time Capsule

Family time capsules are a great way to see how much you have grown–a physical way to capture sweet moments together the way “Facebook on this day” gives you a look at the past year. You can add whatever you desire, however, here are a few ideas of things to may want to gather: a jar, a handwritten note to yourself, or a photo. When you finish all you have to do is store it away and wait for the next year to review it.

Time with family is incredibly important and my hope for each of us is that we would embrace holidays, such as New Year’s Eve, as opportunities to spend time with our loved ones and create memories that will stay in our hearts forever.

With love! Abby A
