To bring art classes and resources to children in underserved communities by using comics, cartoons, and books is Comic Kids’ mission. Thanks to this non-profit organization, many children in need in Miami are being inspired to develop their art skills. They learn to draw characters they know and love while also learning advanced skills such as perspective, color rendering, scale, and shadowing.

Miami Mom Collective partnered with Comic Kids to give moms in Miami the unique opportunity to have their children experience an art class while helping a child in need.

This fun class will take place on Wednesday, April 10th at 11 am at The Doral Yard, providing moms with a fun screen-free learning activity to do with their children on a teacher planning day. Comic Kids founder and Miami mom Kat Barrow-Horth will teach the art class.

The ticket price is $20 per mom/household. With each ticket, Miami Mom Collective will purchase two drawing and coloring books to be donated to children in need.

Our goal is to purchase 40 books minimum. Help us reach this goal! Purchase a ticket and bring your children to this event so that we can support Comic Kids in bringing art learning and fun to children in underserved communities.

Why support Comic Kids and put a coloring/drawing book in the hands of a child in need?

Comic Kids‘ art books are valuable art resources for children in vulnerable communities. These books are donated to after-school programs, shelters, foster care, and children’s hospitals. The series of coloring and step-by-step drawing books–created by Comic Kids–simplify concepts and help children discover that they can master art skills by practicing.

Aside from creating and donating these books, Comic Kids teaches underserved children ages 5 -12 drawing skills and art classes, using books to inspire their creativity. Their programs cultivate enthusiasm, confidence, and competence in art through comics, cartoons, books, and illustrations. Comic Kids serves children from low-income homes, single-parent households, foster care, and hospitals.

Help us support Comic Kids as they inspire the next generation to get excited about art! Bring your children and join us on April 10th at 11:00 am at The Doral Yard. Snag your ticket here.
