Dear Miami Mom,

I’m so glad you stopped by my post. I feel honored to have the opportunity to write for you. I promise I’ll try my best to create content that will be valuable and uplifting.

Take a sip of your coffee/tea/protein shake/beverage of choice, and let me tell you how I got here.

Miami

I was born in Hialeah in the mid-’80s to two Cuban American refugees. My childhood was all about Sesame Street, ALF, Woody Woodpecker, Chucky E. Cheese’s, Grand Prix Race-O-Rama, and Pirates Family Entertainment Center.

Fast forward to when I met my future husband, Louie, on an online dating site in 2009. He wooed me with his nerdy ways, confidence, and artistic talent.

In 2012, we married, and I moved into his condo in South Miami. I got pregnant with my daughter in 2013, and that’s when we moved to “The City Beautiful,” Coral Gables.

We look so young and well-rested.

So, I’m a Miami gal through and through.

Moms

My husband and I started off parenthood in the smallest way – we got a plant that we named Plantina. We kept it alive for over a year, so we decided to adopt a dog that my mother-in-law rescued; she was a lanky pup whom we named Chewie.

And a couple of years later, we had Leia. She’s our four-year-old, strong-willed, high-octane, princess. I’m not the girliest girl, so sometimes I feel like Leia is from a far-away pink planet, but I adore her just the way she is.

In October of 2018, little Luke came into our lives. He’s a good-natured babe with cheeks that need their own zip code. He’ll be rounding out his little coconut head soon, so he’s getting some cool new headgear in a few weeks.

This is the best picture I have with both of my kids.

When I’m not copywriting for my clients, blogging on my personal blog, contributing posts to Miami Moms Blog, or editing for South Florida Mom Bloggers, you can find me with the family at our local bookstore, comic book store, or comic convention.

Blog

I started blogging because motherhood and life can be isolating, and I wanted to connect with and help others through my writing.

I love writing posts that present life in all it’s candid glory while infusing a bit of humor and positivity.

I also write posts that:

  • are informative and can help you achieve your goals;
  • can help you handle a foreign situation with more finesse than the dorky momma typing this right now;
  • and encourage self-love and self-compassion, because being a momma is hard enough that we don’t have to be hard on ourselves too.

I’m excited to connect, grow, and laugh together!

Have a great one, Lovely!

XO,
