I’m feeling it extra this week. The bittersweet end of summer break, the excitement for the beginning of a new school year, the busy schedule that’s starting to ramp up… It’s such a mixed bag of emotions, isn’t it?! With school starting on Thursday, the return of my husband’s high school football schedule, extracurricular activities for both kids and my own additional commitments, I’m gathering all the resources I can to make this transition go as smoothly as possible. So I was really curious when I heard about Beehive, the newest parenting platform app to hit the market!

Manage Your Digital “Hive”

In nature, beehives are highly functioning ecosystems where each bee has a role that supports the entire colony. While the hive is a constant frenzy of activity, it’s held together by continuous communication and collaboration. So when co-founders Justin Albert and Porter Pursley read an article about how beehives work in nature, they felt it powerfully illustrated their mission: to give every child the opportunity to develop into the best version of themselves, and it starts with giving parents the tools to make it happen. With that in mind, Beehive was created to bring more collaboration, communication, and synergy to your household through a parent-focused, easy-to-use mobile parenting app.

How Beehive Works for You

Built around the pillars of staying better organized in your household, maximizing your child(ren)’s potential, and keeping track of their progress, here are 3 ways Beehive can simplify your life:

What’s Next

I love a good calendar/planning system. The What’s Next feature allows you and your partner to stay in sync and maximize communication for the week ahead. Either of you can quickly enter upcoming assignments, events, appointments, etc. so that you can both see the week at a glance. It’ll even send a push notification to your phones on Sunday and sync to your calendars so everyone’s on the same page!

Growth Plans

Created by current and former educators, Growth Plans are personalized and flexible to meet each child’s learning needs. These micro-learning lessons, currently tailored to children in grades K-7 (and expanding), are designed to meet each student where they are and close any learning gaps they may have. Beehive‘s analytics engine provides parents with recommendations so that each child can meet growth goals at their own pace. It’s a great way to sharpen skills after the summer slide or reinforce concepts children may find challenging.

School

With the option to enter their grades and celebrate milestones, this feature gives parents a holistic snapshot of how their child is doing at school. This data allows Beehive to personalize Growth Plans according to each child’s unique needs. Additionally, actionable insights can help you keep your kids on track and support them as they learn.

What Moms Are Saying

Though Beehive officially launches TODAY, it’s been in Beta testing–with real parents–since May. Here’s what some moms recently had to say:

The event tracker, I especially enjoyed that because it keeps everything in one place and it’s not 15 different apps that we have to go through. And the layout is especially easy and you don’t have to click 15 different spots to get to one place. It’s easy, laid out, you know where you need to go, what you need to do just by looking at the main page and it walks you through everything for setup, which is even nicer.

The Beehive app as far as keeping track of the grades for the stuff that we do at home, or providing information for other parents, like ‘Hey, we should do a group meeting’ or just being able to say ‘Hey, we worked on this today’ and being able to organize and giving them that information as well as being able to track it for my own children Beehive has made it phenomenally easier because there is not an app that I am aware of that does the same thing as Beehive does as far being able to record grades, keep track of it, and then have the plans for things that we need to work on top of all the other stuff that it does.
