To the OBGYN who delivered my baby safely and assured me I would not die when I actually asked if I would as my daughter was about to make her debut, thank you.
To the nurse who assured me I wasn’t having a postpartum hemorrhage because the blood was more than I ever could have imagined, thank you.
To my friends and sister who brought me over pre-cooked meals to pop in the oven postpartum and kept me fed, thank you.
To my husband who told me I was beautiful when I felt unrecognizable and didn’t flinch at my postpartum pads, sprays, and underwear, thank you.
To my family who visited very quickly so I didn’t feel isolated postpartum, thank you.
To the mom who lent me all her newborn things that became a lifesaver, thank you.
To the mom who commiserated with me about how much pumping felt daunting, thank you.
To the mom who told me to ignore people when I felt extreme guilt for wanting to wean off breastfeeding because of other people’s opinions, thank you.
To the amazing teachers at daycare who provide my daughter with an interactive experience making me feel comfortable while I’m at work, thank you.
To my beautiful daughter who reminds me life is a miracle and to live more in the present, thank you.
They say it takes a village of people to raise a child. I am in forever gratitude to the village I found in some unexpected places!
