Are your SuperPowers ignited?
I don’t know about you but when I was young and single I truly enjoyed those moments when I played with my friends children. We laughed, we played, and then I gave them back. Now, I have 2 of my own and with every challenge comes the most amazing cherished moments that I could ever have.
I am a MOM, I am here to coach, inspire, and motivate my children to greatness.
Yes, it has been hard, and yes, it will get harder, but when we have those moments of success and glory, those challenges are worth the effort. As with anything, it is all about how you perceive a situation. No matter where you are in life, you do have the SuperPowers to be an amazing MOM but in order to make the best of it you have to place yourself….FIRST.
I said it, YOU have to come first, just like on an airplane you have to take oxygen before you place it on your children. There is a reason for this, if you pass out, who will calm the little tykes down? In life we need to nurture ourselves so that we can be the cool ones, the ones who love encouraging our crew to success. If we leave ourselves last, barely make it to the shower, let alone a good hot meal, we turn into a grumpy mess and yes this is when being a MOM can turn ugly, really ugly.
No one can meet your needs better than YOU!
As a mom, we fix things, do things, and make things happen all for our amazing family. Your SuperPowers are the “thing” that gives you the spark to keep going, to see the end result before it happens, and to feel proud of all of the triumphs that come your way. To make these powers shine you have to begin by setting a priority of doing something for YOU every day. You can dream of others taking the lead and taking care of your needs, but at the end of the day, YOU have to make it happen.
Setting this priority doesn’t have to take hours out of your day, although that would be pretty amazing, just taking a brief moment to do something you really enjoy will give you a “time-out” to magnify your powers and give you a positive second wind to your day.
My top “all about me” events are:
- Tea with my besties
- A great read
- A manicure
- A nap
- or simply some quiet meditation.
